HELLO, I'm Tearsa Joy!
I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design & Merchandising from the International Academy of Design & Technology in Tampa, Florida. Throughout my professional career, I have had the opportunity to work with both small businesses and large corporations, giving me a strong understanding of the full product development, merchandising, and retail sales process.
My experience spans concept development, trend research, product design, assortment building, sourcing, costing, buyer presentations, sales strategy, and securing merchandise programs that successfully land in retail stores. I am not only a creative professional, but also a highly skilled sales presenter with the ability to build captivating pitches, communicate product opportunities clearly, and connect creative concepts to real business results.
I have successfully developed and supported product lines across a variety of channels, including major American retail corporations, boutiques, gift shops, touring live entertainment shows, and live television. I have a strong eye for creating commercially successful product assortments that balance creativity, market trends, customer needs, and retail strategy.
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to take an idea from initial concept through buyer presentation, sales pitch, assortment development, and final in-store placement. I enjoy creating merchandise stories that excite buyers, support retail goals, and connect with consumers in a meaningful way.
Beyond my professional work, I am passionate about using creativity and business as tools for positive impact. My social interests include supporting female hygiene education, helping fight the global stigma around menstruation, raising awareness about human trafficking, and advocating for justice, equity, and access for underserved communities.
